To nourish dry and cracked cuticles, one can make use of almond cuticle oil. The oil will have to be rubbed into the cuticles, surrounding skin, and the nails for better results…
There are different reasons which can cause the cuticles to go dry. If one uses the cuticle softeners available in the market, one will see that the results are often temporary. However, using almond cuticle oil helps in treating the condition for a longer period of time, because almond oil has soothing and health giving vitamins, which combat the condition from the root itself. Other than softening the cuticles, there are other benefits of using almond oil regularly. Almond oil promotes nail growth and also helps in strengthening the nails. If you have been experiencing peeling of skin around the nails, then using this oil regularly will help in combating the condition.

How to Make Almond Cuticle Oil at Home
If you are skeptical about using cuticle oils available in the market due the chemicals added to the oil, you may choose to make cuticle oil at home. Homemade cuticle oil will contain almond oil, jojoba oil and rice bran oil in equal quantity and there will be no place for chemicals and you need not be worried about chemicals affecting your skin and nails. In a bottle, mix the three oils and shake the bottle, so that the oils are well mixed. Break a vitamin E capsule and add it to the oil mixture. Add 5 drops of essential oil of your choice to the oil mixture, if you wish to. Shake the bottle again. You will need only a small drop of the oil every time.
Apply the oil and massage it into the cuticle, nail and the skin surrounding the nails in circular motion. Repeat this procedure at least once a day and make sure you store the oil only in a cool dark place. Use this oil regularly and see the effect it has on nail growth. Your skin will also benefit a great deal from the use of this oil.
You can either choose to buy cuticle oil at the store or may make one at home. However, it is important that you use the oil regularly to see the results. It is advised that you massage the oil into the cuticle, nail and the skin at night and cover your hands with hand gloves for better results.
